The Leonard E. & Margaret R. Wood Commons Area in the School of Civil Engineering provides a place for students to gather, socialize, study, relax and reenergize.

InterDesign converted a seldom used vestibule and stairwell into a single-level commons area and atrium. The stairs were removed and a wheelchair lift was added to work alongside an existing, adjacent stairwell. Abundant natural light, soft carpet tiles, playful wood paneling and comfortable furniture combine to create a warm, inviting student-friendly environment.
